  • Pattern:  King's Crown aka Thumbprint (Discontinued)
  • Made in USA
  • Antique: circa 1890
  • Details:  The ever popular King's Crown pattern, (also known as Thumbprint), offered here in the Ruby color.  This small cordial glass features the traditional ovals and zigzag markings of the King's Crown pattern.  There is a long and complicated history of this pattern, originally introduced by Adams Glass Co. during the late 1800's.  It became a very popular pattern and was copied by other glass manufacturers.  Indiana Glass introduced their King's Crown in the late 1950's.  In 1961 Colony continued to make this pattern after they merged with Lancaster Glass Corporation (who owned Indiana Glass).  We are not experts but based on articles discussing this pattern, we believe this glass is the Adams Ruby Thumbprint flashed.  It has a very deep Ruby color unlike all the other ones we carry, without the gold iridescent mixed in with the red.  It has slightly flared sides and three mold marks. If you are a collector, and this is important to you, please review the pictures and make your own determination.  We are happy to provide additional pictures and answer questions.  Otherwise, if you're looking for a beautiful vintage glass to complete your collection of these very old, and hard to find glasses, this one will not disappoint.
  • Material:  Pressed Glass
  • Dimensions:  3 7/8 (almost 4.0) inches Tall and 2.0 inches in Diameter at its widest point (top).
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Good Vintage Condition.  There are no cracks or chips, however there is wear on the flashing along the rim and other small areas, acceptable due to age/use/wear.  There is also an unusual black shadow on the red flashing, the red is very dark so the mark is hard to see, we tried to photograph it for you. Please make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.   Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear  and imperfections.
