This oval tin has the warm, muted palette of a Victorian botanical print — flowers in peach, salmon, mustard, and brown with dark green leaves, accented with brass-toned sprigs. The lid is bordered in a rope design with an antique brass rim; the pattern continues on the sides. Embossed: "Meister, Made in Brazil."
A lovely storage piece, a Mother's Day gift box, or a decorative accent for a warm-toned shelf. The kind of tin that looks like it has always been there.
Meister produced decorative tinware in Brazil throughout the 1970s and '80s, exporting pieces with this kind of warm, Victorian-inspired floral styling to collectors abroad.
