The backstamp shows a triangle mark attributed by some researchers to Jena, Bareuther & Co. of Waldsassen, Bavaria (1884–1887), and by others to a New York importer — the exact origin remains a subject of collector debate. What is not in question is the quality: fine German porcelain with an embossed swirl border finished in luminous iridescent yellow-gold, and a naturalistic fruit and nut motif that would have graced a formal table with ease.
