  • Details:  This is a loved figurine by one of America's most loved artist, Norman Rockwell.   Produced by the Norman Rockwell Museum and part of the  Rockwell Museum Porcelain Figurines Collection.  "While the Audience Waits" shows a circus handler/trainer washing the paws of a performing Poodle who's dressed in a blue costume ready to perform, he just needs to look his best.  The details on this piece are impeccable, too many to discuss but just notice the wrinkles on the man's jacket, each little button, the gentle look on the man's face and the patient look on the dog's face, you can even see the letters on the soap bottle by his side, all truly delightful to look at.  Excellent quality.  Great for a Norman Rockwell collector, a Circus history collector, or a Poodle lover!

Norman Rockwell was born on February 3, 1894.  He was an American author, painter and illustrator. His works reflected the American culture of the time and continue to be loved today by many.  He became best known for his cover illustrations of everyday life he created for the magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, but he also painted portraits of several presidents, illustrated books and calendars.   Over his lifetime he produced more than 4,000 original works that have been reproduced in mugs, plates, posters and many other items bare his paintings and illustrations.   He died on November 8, 1978.
