• Details:  This is a wonderful musical figurine.  We believe it is an eagle, but could also be a hawk or falcon.  It is made of bisque porcelain and has wonderful detail.   The feathers are individually outlined all over this bird.  His eyes are very expressive, seems to be really looking at you, the coloring is wonderful, especially around the eyes.  He is standing on a rock and his talons are clearly marked.  We have taken several pictures so you can appreciate the details.  This figurine plays "Born Free", music is a little slow on this one.  This piece is unmarked except for a foil label that simply says "Made in Taiwan".  It's been credited to Sanyo but we could not find the connection to Sanyo.  A great gift for someone who loves birds, especially birds of prey like Eagles and Falcons.  Also would be a great gift for a figurine collector.  Beautiful as home decor!

• Dimensions:  7.5 inches Tall, 4.25 inches in Diameter (bottom base)
• Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Very Good Condition.  It didn't score an "Excellent" because the music box plays a little slow.  There are no chips, cracks, or scratches.  There are no missing petals on the flowers, the beak and tail feathers are all perfect.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections. 

The song "Born Free" was written by John Barry with lyrics by Don Black.  It was written for the 1966 film of the same name and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.  The movie soundtrack was sung by Matt Monro, a British singer, however, the song was cut from the film premier in London.   Fortunately for all of us,  the writers were made aware of the edit and they successfully lobbied the producers to restore it, in a shortened version.  Monro's complete commercial recording was released on the film's soundtrack album and became the singer's signature tune for the remainder of his career.
