He's wound up and ready — driver back, ball on the ground, the quiet before the swing. At nearly 9 inches tall, this Ardalt golfer is a substantial piece, hand painted in soft pastels with the kind of detail that rewards a second look: buttons on the shirt, a glove on one hand, fingers individually defined, and a metal-shafted driver that catches the light differently than the porcelain around it.

The original foil sticker reads "Hand Painted Lenwile-China Ardalt, Japan" and the base is stamped with number 7364. Ardalt was an American importer of quality Japanese porcelain giftware in the mid-20th century, and the Lenwile designation indicates their finer quality line. Hard to find in this condition.

A wonderful gift for a golfer, a Father's Day find, a gift for a golf instructor, or simply a piece for someone who loves mid-century figurines with real character. Beautiful on a home office desk, a study shelf, or a sports room.
