A striking coastal or tropical décor accent, and a wonderful gift for the dolphin lover, marine art collector, or anyone building a Lassen collection.
Christian Riese Lassen is a self-taught American marine artist and environmentalist, born in 1956 in Mendocino, California, and raised from childhood on the island of Maui, where he grew up surfing and immersed in ocean life. Never formally trained, Lassen began creating art on surfboards and t-shirts before moving into fine art in the 1990s, developing his signature "Two Worlds" style — paintings that reveal both above and below the water's surface in a single composition. His large-scale seascapes featuring dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and other marine life have made him one of the best-known marine artists in the world.
