Brinn's China and Glassware Co. was founded in 1934 by Samuel I. Brinn in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after he lost his scrap iron business and started over as a wholesaler of china and glass. He built the company into one of the most respected importers of ceramic décor in the country — planters, vases, figurines, tableware — and became especially well known for lady head vases. By 1975, Charles Brinn was traveling personally to China to attend the Canton Fair. The company remained family-owned until it closed in the late 1980s.
