He was created by cartoonist Tom Wilson in 1971, Ziggy has a sweet, easy going personality, is portrayed as an animal lover, (he has a dog, cat, fish, parrot, and even a pet rock). Things never went according to plan for poor Ziggy, but the cartoon strip became very popular eventually appearing in over 500 daily and Sunday newspapers. What followed was an extensive licensed character merchandising campaign that included figurines, plaques, T-shirts, buttons, drinking glasses, lunch boxes, mugs, greeting cards, trinket boxes, and much more. This is a highly collectible piece that will warm the heart of any collector or Ziggy. This egg would make a great addition on a bookshelf or desk or as part of your Easter decor.
