  • Pattern:  Vintage Aunt Jemima Syrup Dispenser / Syrup Pitcher, F & F Mold & Die Works, Plastic
  • Made in Dayton, OH, USA
  • Vintage: 1949 - 1950's
  • Description:  A very hard to find collectible.  This Aunt Jemima plastic syrup dispenser is a part of the American advertising history, called Black Americana. Aunt Jemima has on a red dress with matching headscarf, white apron and white neckerchief.  These were made by F&F Mold & Die Works in Dayton Ohio, starting in 1949 as promotional giveaways for Quaker Oat customers that saved Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix box tops. Black Americana is a valuable record, many times demonstrating injustice towards one race, but not all items are about injustice, many highlight those that came before us, were proud to stand out, and worked to make a difference.  This item honors Nancy Green, who dared to stand out, as one of the first African-American models, she became the advertising world's first living trademark and carried an entire, and highly successful, brand for many years.  There are mixed opinions on Black Americana, most believe it is necessary to preserve these items as part of Black American history, and history is not always fair, and will always have tainted themes throughout time.  These items teach tolerance and open minds to the sins of the past.  However, a few contend this will entice racist attitudes.  We encourage you to purchase with intent for the greater good and for preservation.  Perfect gift for a Black Americana collector.
  • Material:  Plastic
  • Dimensions:  5.5 inches Tall, approx 3.0 inches Wide (front to handle)
