  • Pattern:  Vernon Kilns Vintage State Plate:  Pennsylvania
  • Made in Vernon, CA

  • Details: This plate is part of a Souvenir State Plate Collection from Vernon Kilns.  This one is for the state of Pennsylvania, named in honor or Admiral William Penn, this plate is rich in detail and history, excellent example of vintage transferware.  Some of the points of interest are: State Capitol, Independence Hall, Valley Forge and Gettysburg.  The plate is mostly brown transferware with the added hand coloring, which dates it to the early 1950's (Vernon started adding hand tinted coloring in 1953). The back has additional information on this state, one of the original 13 colonies and the the second US state.  The back also includes:  "Designed by Vernon Kilns U.S.A."  The plate came with a hanger, we're leaving it for you.  This is a great addition to a state plate collection.  Great gift for someone moving to the state of Pennsylvania or a birthday gift for someone born in that state.  Or collect them for yourself for states you've visited or lived in.
