  • Pattern:  Seattle Space Needle, World's Fair Plate 1962
  • Made in USA
  • Vintage: 1962
  • Details:  This is a souvenir saucer plate from the Seattle World's Fair in 1962.  This was one of the most forward thinking, futuristic expositions of the 20th Century!!  There were so many new, exciting innovations they called this "The Century 21 Exposition".  This saucer shows some of the attractions built for the fair like:  The Space Needle, The Alweg Monorail, The U. S. Science Pavilion (now called the Pacific Science Center), The Glittering Gayway (a space oriented amusement park with 19 rides, no longer there), and Washington State Coliseum (largely unchanged until the early 1990's, in 1995 was re-named the Key Arena).  This plate still retains is original foil sticker that reads:  "Century Souvenir Company Inc." plus its original blue paper sticker "Japan".  A beautiful brushed gold border finishes this lovely collectible.
