  • Pattern:  Vintage Collectible City Plate, City of Chicago Landmarks
  • Made in USA
  • Vintage: 1963 - 1964
  • Details:  This is a beautiful and RARE plate, we tried to find the exact decal but came up empty handed.  This plate is part of a very large Souvenir Plate Collection made in the 1950's and 1960's by several potteries like: Homer Laughlin, Vernon Kilns, Salem China Co and others, this plate is unmarked.   The plate features landmarks in the Chicago area like the Prudential Building in the center, (completed in 1955).  Also shown is the Marina City building, a residential-commercial building designed by architect Bertrand Goldberg, opened in 1963.  However, the John Hancock building, completed in 1965, a very famous landmark and most likely would have been included if it was finished.  Based on these facts, we dated this plate between 1963 and 1964.   This is a great addition to a state/city plate collection.  Great gift for someone moving to the city of Chicago, or a birthday gift for someone born in that city.  Or collect them for yourself for places you've visited or lived in.  We carry several other souvenir plates, please browse the site for more.
  • Material:  Ceramic
  • Dimensions:  9.25 inches in Diameter

The gold filigree border is worn in several places, however, the decal remains in Excellent Condition.  These souvenir plates were not considered high quality, this one is in very good condition considering its age.  There may be other issues as acceptable due to age/use/wear.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are Not New, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
