  • Vintage Bakeware Mold, Decorative Mould, Vegetables Ceramic Mold, Kitchen Decor, Gailstyn Sutton Molds, Vintage Collectibles, Wall Decor, (Discontinued)
  • Made in: Japan
  • Vintage: 1981 - 1989
  • Details: This is such a pretty mold.  It has a collection of vegetables like tomatoes, celery, cauliflower, a red onion and some mushrooms, so pretty and such bright colors!  The sides are white and yellow with a pretty yellow border.  It is pre-drilled on top and has a metallic ring attached as these are meant for hanging on the wall as decor.  It is unmarked, these came with a clear label, which is long gone, however, we know this mold belongs to a beautiful collection of molds from Gailstyn-Sutton and were made in Japan.  Would look great hanging on a wall in a kitchen or dining room.  Excellent decor for a farmhouse kitchen or country home.  If you're adding to, or starting, your own collection of moulds, we hope this piece brings you great joy.

Towle silversmith's history can be traced back as early as 1690 but it wasn't until 1857 that Anthony Frances Towle and his apprentice, William P. Jones, formed Towle & Jones.   They have a long and complicated history with acquisitions, bankruptcies and re-starts.  In 1979 Leonard Silver merged with Towle Manufacturing Co., as it relates to this piece, here is what we know.

GAILSTYN-SUTTON was a registered trademark of the Leonard Silver Manufacturing Co.  GAILSTYN-SUTTON trademark was filed in November, 1981 to sell household products in Glass, Wood, Ceramics, and Metal but not including precious metals.  In 1986 they were acquired by Syratech.   In 1989 the trademark registration for Gailstyn-Sutton was not renewed, and by 1990 it was deemed "Un-Revivable". In 1990, Towle Silversmiths was acquired by the holding company Syratech Inc., that also owned Wallace Silversmiths and the International Silver Company.  All this helps us date this piece to pre-1990.  In 2006 Lifetime Brands acquired Syratech thereby acquiring Towle and all others.
