Deal the cards, pour the bourbon — this bold black 1957 Jim Beam decanter was designed to do both at once, and it's one of the rarest pieces the figural series ever produced.

  • Maker: Jim Beam / Regal China
  • Materials: Black porcelain
  • Dimensions: 10.0" tall, 5.5" wide
  • Origin: USA
  • Era: Vintage, 1957
  • Condition: Very good — no chips or scratches; all original gold foil labels intact. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

Set it on the table and it does double duty: holds two decks of cards and anchors the bar setup in one stroke. The black porcelain is bold and striking, made all the more dramatic by the fully intact gold foil labels. Note: often listed as an ashtray, but research confirms this was designed to hold two decks of playing cards, with the whiskey bottle sitting squarely at the center of the action.

A superb gift for the dad who plays cards, collects Jim Beam decanters, or simply appreciates a piece of barware history that no one else at the table will have seen before.

Made by Regal China of Chicago, the same craftsmen behind the entire Jim Beam figural series, and originally sold with Jim Beam 5 Year Old Whiskey. The Regal China figural decanter series launched in the early 1950s and ran through the 1980s; pieces from the 1950s, the earliest years of the series, are among the most difficult to find today.
