A superb gift for the dad who plays cards, collects Jim Beam decanters, or simply appreciates a piece of barware history that no one else at the table will have seen before.
Set it on the table and it does double duty: holds two decks of cards and anchors the bar setup in one stroke. The black porcelain is bold and striking, made all the more dramatic by the gold foil labels that remain fully intact. Made by Regal China of Chicago, the same craftsmen behind the entire Jim Beam figural series, originally sold with Jim Beam 5 Year Old Whiskey. Note: often listed as an ashtray, but research confirms this was designed to hold two decks of playing cards, the whiskey bottle sitting squarely in the center of the action. Jim Beam's Regal China figural decanter series launched in the early 1950s and ran through the 1980s; pieces from the 1950s, the earliest years of the series, are among the most difficult to find today.
