A 1960s–1970s Luxardo Grecian wine jug decanter, made in Este, Italy — hand-molded majolica with iridescent lusterware and gold finish, a promotional bottle that transcends its origins entirely.

  • Brand: Luxardo / Este, Veneto, Italy
  • Made in: Italy
  • Vintage: 1960s–1970s
  • Dimensions: 11.0" tall (to tip of handle) | approx. 4.0" diameter | holds one pint (16 oz)
  • Material: Majolica ceramic, lusterware and gold finish
  • Condition: Very good vintage condition. Stopper missing — displays beautifully without one; add a cork if preferred. No chips or scratches. Minor wear on gold and labels consistent with age. Please review all photos carefully — we cannot accept returns.

A wonderful gift for the dad who loves Italy, Mediterranean style, wine culture, or simply a decanter that looks like it belongs in a museum — equally at home on a bar cart, a dining table centerpiece, or a library shelf.

The shape is a classical Greek amphora — the vessel used to carry and serve wine in antiquity — and the iridescence shifts with the light, moving through golds, coppers, and warm bronzes. All original labels are intact, one reading "Genuine Italian Majolica, Hand Moulded and Decorated, Italy," and the piece is signed on the bottom by "Este," the renowned ceramics town in the Veneto region, one of the great centers of Italian majolica production. Girolamo Luxardo was founded in 1821 by a Genoese consul who developed the now-famous Maraschino liqueur, and the company survived two World Wars before rebuilding in Torreglia — today it remains family-owned in its sixth generation.
