A little folk art for the table.
The double-neck cruet — one vessel, two spouts — has a long history in Mediterranean and Asian kitchens, and this Japanese example makes a charming case for the form. Hand-painted in blue, rust, and green with dancing couples on the front and flowers on the back, with swirls and leaves filling every surface. Still carries remnants of its original price label. The ceramic stoppers are missing, but simple corks work perfectly in their place. There is crazing throughout, consistent with age.
A lovely piece for a farmhouse kitchen, a country-style table, or a collector of mid-century Japan imports. Charming displayed even without the stoppers.
