Small in scale, grand in presence. This Wedgwood Blue Jasperware mini pitcher, dated 1963 and made in England, is the kind of piece that stops you mid-shelf.
White relief decorations wrap all the way around the body and onto the spout — neoclassical figures and motifs in the tradition Wedgwood has maintained since 1774. The interior is glazed; the exterior wears the signature powdery blue unglazed stoneware that collectors have prized for generations. Stamped on the bottom: "Wedgwood, Made in England," along with '63 and 2½.
Originally a creamer, it makes an equally lovely bud vase, a display piece in a curio cabinet, or part of a gathered Jasperware collection on a shelf.
