American Cut operated in Hungary from 1971 to 1999, and should not be confused with antique American Brilliant Cut Glass from the 19th century — it's a distinct tradition, era, and achievement of its own.

  • Maker: American Cut, Hungary
  • Pattern: Vega
  • Materials: Unleaded blown glass, etched and cut
  • Origin: Hungary
  • Era: Vintage, 1980s–1990s (estimated)
  • Dimensions: Sugar 6" tall with lid, 6.5" wide handle to handle; Creamer 5.5" tall, 4.5" wide
  • Condition: Good condition — small chip on inside rim of sugar lid; minor unsmoothed area on lid finial (both photographed); no other issues. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

An etched rose, arched cuts, and crisscross facets decorate both pieces; the Vega pattern is ornate without being excessive, and the weight of the unleaded blown glass in hand is satisfying.

A beautiful set for a formal table or a collected glass display.

American Cut produced high-quality cut and etched glassware throughout its nearly three-decade run, building a reputation distinct from the antique American cut glass tradition its name evokes.

Priced to reflect the condition — the cut work and etching are fully intact and striking. A thoughtful gift for the glass collector or the person who loves European craft with a specific, traceable history.
