A snow owl — white, immaculate, composed — is centered against a cool blue ground, holding its perch with the absolute stillness owls are known for, glowing against the blue the way snow glows at dusk. This is the blue pear version; the same owl also appears on a red apple label from the same Perham Fruit Company, in stock.
Frame it as wildlife art or Pacific Northwest nature illustration — particularly strong in a bedroom, study, or winter-themed display.
Pairing the same design across two produce types and two color grounds was a common cost-saving practice for growers, and seeing both versions together makes the design choices especially clear.
Fred A. Perham arrived in the Pacific Northwest in 1879 and spent decades learning the fruit trade before founding his own company in 1919. The label era he printed in didn't last — wooden crates gave way to cardboard by the 1950s, and Perham's operation faded not long after — but the vivid, confident lithographs the company commissioned have made it a lasting favorite among collectors and historians today.
A wonderful gift for an owl lover, a birder, or a Pacific Northwest enthusiast.
