  •        Details: This is such a popular pattern! The milk glass Harvest pattern (sometimes called Harvest Grapes), is not only beautiful, but it is one with the largest number of pieces in milk glass. This is the Wedding Bowl with Lid, it is a very tall compote with pedestal and a wonderful lid finial shaped like a grape cluster. Made by Indiana Glass, but this Harvest Milk Glass was never sold under the Indiana name, (only the Colony name).  Did you know that the best way to get Colony Harvest pieces was through the S&H Green Stamps program? Yep, you filled your book and were able to pick out a piece. This very tall compote makes a wonderful floral vase (use a flower frog), a candy dish, or gorgeous as decor all on its own.  Don't forget weddings and bridal showers can be a great place to showcase your milk glass pieces, this one would be a stunner!

Colony was a brand name from Indiana Glass, not an independent glass company.  In 1957 The Lancaster Lens Company became the Lancaster Glass Corporation when they acquired a controlling interest in Indiana Glass.  In 1962, as part of a reorganization, Indiana Glass Company became a subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corporation, the Colony brand was used to market the glass produced by Indiana Glass.  Under the Colony name they issued many different patterns, some of the best known include: Harvest, Park Lane, Crown / Kings Crown, Whitehall and others.  Lancaster Colony Corporation closed the Indiana Glass plant in Dunkirk, Indiana, in 2002.  Today, the Colony brand is still recognized and highly collected.
