This is shape #5071, hand-painted and sculpted by legendary Hagen-Renaker artist Don Winton. It was produced during the company's brief five-year Disney license (1955–1960) and sold primarily at Disneyland, making pieces from this era especially scarce.

Hagen-Renaker got its start in 1945, when John and Maxine Renaker began making ceramics out of their Culver City garage. The company became known for its lifelike figurines — from Maureen Love's realistic horses to Helen Perrin Farnlund's charming animal miniatures — and later moved production to its historic Monrovia, California facility. Walt Disney himself was reportedly so taken with the studio's work that he called it some of the finest three-dimensional figurine sculpting he'd ever seen, and Hagen-Renaker held the official Disney license for only five years, from 1955 to 1960, before the factory shifted its focus elsewhere. That narrow window is exactly what makes Monrovia-era Disney pieces like this Lady bank so prized today; the original family-owned company continued operating until it closed at the end of 2021.
