  • Details:  This swizzle stick is from the Continental Plaza Hotel in Chicago.  This one with the Lady in Top Hat is a RARE find.  It's a bright yellow swizzle with a cursive font that reads:  "Continental Plaza", Chicago. This hotel has a very long history (see a brief synopsis below), now a landmark hotel named the Intercontinental Chicago.  We dated this one based on swizzle sticks popularity, primarily the 1950's to 60's, by 1970, they mostly fell out of favor.  Swizzle sticks make a wonderful addition for use in your bar, or display en masse as decor, and this one has a great story to go with it.  Great gift for a swizzle stick collector, or someone from Chicago.
  • Material: Hard Plastic

  • Condition:  Vintage - Used. Very Good Vintage Condition.  The word "Chicago" is missing the C and the H is worn.  There are a couple of black stains/marks, photographed for you.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

The Continental Plaza Hotel in Chicago IL was built in 1929.  Originally designed by Walter Ahlschlager as the Medinah Athletic Club, a private club for the Shriners.  In 1934, after the club closed, the building was revitalized and reopened as the Continental Hotel.  In 1989,  InterContinental Hotels & Resorts acquired the property, reopening it 1990 as the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, now a landmark hotel on Michigan Avenue.
