Francis Marbois, better known as François de Barbé-Marbois was born in Metz, France, on January 31, 1745.  He became a French diplomat and politician and served as Intendant of Saint-Domingue and later as the Minister of the Treasury under Napoleon.  He is best known for negotiating the sale of Louisiana to the United States, known as "The Louisiana Purchase" of 1803.  He died in Paris, France, on January 14, 1837.

Spector Bros, was printing and lithography company located in Chicago, IL.  They were known for printing cigar box labels as well as other types of commercial prints.  There is not much written about this company, we know they were in business from approx. 1901 and continued through at least 1911.
