Santa's red suit is flocked soft and fuzzy in this 1968 Whitman die-cut edition of Clement C. Moore's Christmas poem.

  • Author: Clement C. Moore
  • Publisher: Whitman Publishing
  • Copyright: 1968
  • Format: Softcover, die-cut
  • Dimensions: 7" x 13.75"
  • Condition: Average — light stains, bent and fold marks, foxing, and yellowed pages; a small tear on the front cover by the spine (zoomed in and photographed); the inside is in much better condition than the covers; no page tears, missing pages, or writing. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

Many of the red areas on Santa's outfit are flocked, giving the die-cut pages a fuzzy, touchable texture that makes this a fun book for children. At nearly 14 inches tall, it is a tall, narrow format made for sharing at story time.

A fun gift for the vintage children's book collector, or a keepsake to bring out with the family's Christmas books each December.

Whitman Publishing of Racine, Wisconsin made affordable children's books and novelty editions for generations of young readers. Clement C. Moore's poem, which first appeared in 1823 under the title "A Visit from St. Nicholas," is the source of much of our picture of Santa Claus, and it has been reissued in countless illustrated editions since.
