- Vintage Champagne Coupe / Tall Sherbet, Pink Depression Glass / Elegant Glass Tiffin Pattern 15028, Pink Diamond Optic, Hand Blown Barware, Stemware, Cocktail Glasses, Bar Gifts, Champagne Lovers, Free Shipping, (Discontinued)
- Made in USA
- Vintage: 1930's - 1940's
- Details: This is a beautiful set of Tall Sherbet aka Champagne stem glasses. These are very elegant, actually considered "Elegant Glass", (vs the cheaper, mass-produced "depression glass" of the same era). These are hand blown, with a delicate diamond "optic" pattern on the bowl and simple straight stem. We have seen this pattern listed as "Tiffin-Franciscan", we chose to only list them as "Tiffin", since the company didn't become "Tiffin-Franciscan" until 1969, and this pattern is from an earlier time when Tiffin was still a division of U.S. Glass Co. There is a condition issue one one glass, please see details below. These can be used at the bar as champagne glasses, or at the table to serve desserts like sorbets, sherbet and other creamy desserts. These will surely enhance many bar collections and tableware settings. This item qualifies for Free Shipping.

Tiffin started as division of the U.S. Glass Co. in the late 1800's. US Glass built two new factories, one was located in Tiffin, Ohio, and made blown glassware, stemware, and some dinnerware. For various reasons, including the depression, fires, etc., all the factories closed except the one in Tiffin, Ohio and by 1950, all pieces were marked (using paper labels) with the Tiffin name, however, the company retained the name "United States Glass Co". The Tiffin name was so popular that in 1963, the company reorganized as "Tiffin Art Glass Company". Three years later, in 1966, Continental Can Company purchased Tiffin for a brief period, only to be sold again, this time to Interpace Corporation in January 1969. Since Interpace owned Franciscan brand, this is the period where we find the "Tiffin-Franciscan" name for pieces made by Tiffin for Franciscan. In 1979, Tiffin Glass was sold to Towle Silversmiths and renamed Tiffin Crystal. Tiffin Crystal shut down on May 1, 1980.
