- Details: The ever popular King's Crown pattern, (aka Thumbprint and Colony Crown), offered here in Cranberry (Ruby Crown), with a gorgeous iridescent gold glow. These Tall Sherbet cups feature the traditional ovals and zigzags markings of the Kings Crown pattern. There is a long and complicated history of this pattern, originally introduced by Adams Glass Co. in the late 1800's, it became a very popular pattern and was copied by other glass manufacturers. Indiana Glass introduced their Line #77, "King's Crown" in 1959. In 1961 Colony continued to make this pattern after they merged with Lancaster Glass Corporation (who owned Indiana Glass), and changed the name to Colony Crown. We are not experts but based on articles discussing this pattern, we believe these are from Indiana Glass / Colony: Notice they have straight sides, not flared, (only a slight flare on top), have two mold marks (vs 3 on Tiffin) and the size, these are 3 1/8 inches Tall vs Tiffin 3.0 inches Tall. - Dimensions: Just over 3.0 inches Tall (3 1/8 inches), approx 4.0 (3 7/8) inches in Diameter (top opening).
- Condition: Vintage - Used. Excellent Condition. Absolutely pristine, no issues, no peeling or scratches on flashing.
