Oval, lidded, and quietly magnificent.
The Evesham Gold pattern has been a Royal Worcester icon since 1961, named after a local Worcestershire plum variety and beloved ever since for its warm, abundant still-life of fruits and vegetables on brilliant white oven-to-table porcelain. This 2-quart oval Evesham Gold casserole is one of the more graceful forms in the line — ribbed sides, no handles, with a sleek oval finial on the lid that gives it a sculptural quality at the table. Decorated with pears and oranges on brilliant white porcelain with a gold rim. Stamped with the full Royal Warrant backstamp, dated 1961. Some light marks on the lid border that couldn't be removed (photographed); wear on bottom acceptable for age and use. No chips or cracks. Hand wash only.
Beautiful for a roast, a casserole, or anything that deserves to arrive at the table looking as good as it tastes. A wonderful addition to an Evesham collection, or a distinctly generous gift.
