Illustrated with the kind of warm naturalist precision that makes you stop and look, the design is signed Richard Batchelder in the lower right corner, identifying the artist. Below, the 1971 calendar runs the full year. The towel appears unused — colors remain vivid — though there is slight fading on the May/June calendar letters at the fold line, likely from long storage. Kay Dee was founded in 1951 as a hand-printer of linen towels and calendar towels and is still printing kitchen linens today out of Hope Valley, Rhode Island — a rare continuity in American textile history. An opening at the top accommodates a display dowel (not included).
