  • Details:  This is an absolutely stunning and elegant set of a Large Cake Serving Plate and matching Dessert Plates.  The serving plate is round and the 12 dessert / cake plates are square.  These are very old and in absolutely pristine condition!!  All have the same lovely center medallion of romantic florals in white, pink, yellow and blue; surrounded by lots of gilded filigree scrolls and florals all around the verge and border, plus a thick gold rim.  These were made exclusively for Macy's stores by Bohemia Ceramic Works in what was Czechoslovakia. The backstamp dates these  between 1922 and 1945.  Hand Washing is strongly recommended to maintain the pattern and condition.  Gorgeous for a Bridal Shower or as a wedding gift.  Price is for all 13 pieces, (12 dessert plates, plus the large cake plate).  This item qualifies for Free Shipping.

Bohemia Ceramic Works, founded in 1921, was known for their elaborate designs on porcelain. of florals and gold gilding and most active between 1918 and 1938.  They were located in what was Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic.  They made mostly dinnerware, tea wares and other tableware items.  The "Bohemia" backstamp on items from the 1920s-1930s often refers to the region within the newly formed Czechoslovakia after WWI.  Considered considered one of the oldest porcelain producers in Bohemia, they closed in 2011.
