Three pieces, one purpose — and a century of quiet elegance.
This domed butter server and chiller by C.E. Barker Mfg. Co. of New York is the kind of antique that stops conversation. The etching is everywhere: flowers and leaves on the dome, on the handles, the rim, the finial — not a surface left unadorned, yet never excessive. It consists of three parts: a bottom bowl for ice to keep the butter cold, a top plate for the butter, and the domed lid. Marked on the base: "C.E. Barker MFG Co, Quadruple Plate, 52." We've added a vintage butter spreader from Wm. A. Rogers / Oneida Ltd — not the original, but beautifully suited. Minor dark spots and surface marks consistent with 100+ years of age.
An heirloom-quality piece for a formal table, a holiday buffet, or a serious collector of American antique silverplate. A truly special gift for Mother's Day, a wedding, or a milestone birthday.
