Mt Fuji rising behind houses, a waterwheel turning beside rocky cliffs, trees and landscape painted by hand in the Kutani tradition — each of these six plates carries a complete scene, and because each is hand-painted, no two are exactly the same. Look closely and you'll spot the differences between them; that variation is part of what makes Kutani ware collectible.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or scratches. One plate has a minor manufacturing flaw on the back (photographed). Design varies slightly plate to plate — hand-painted. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.
Each plate bears a square red seal script backstamp traceable to Kutani artists. At 7.5 inches, these are generously sized for bread and butter plates — equally suited for appetizers, tapas, dessert, or a small salad course. They are beautiful as display pieces as well, arranged on a wall or shelf in an Asian-inspired interior.
