This original Blue Bird outer box label is an antique chromolithograph copyrighted in 1917, maker unknown. A large, vivid blue bird perches on a branch at the center, framed above and flanked by gilded scrollwork and below by what appears to be a British-style coat of arms — lions and unicorn, much like a royal crest — all rendered in the embossed and gilded chromolithographic style that made this era of label design so extraordinary. The copyright date is printed directly on the label, placing this piece precisely in 1917. Two available.
