Details: This beautiful hand made, inlaid wood box came from a collector's estate. The inlay, closed fretwork pattern is done as a band in the center, and goes around the entire box (except the bottom). The inside is not painted, the natural wood is visible through a soft varnish. It has a hinged lid and the bottom has four little ball wood "feet". It had the ability to be locked at some point, however, owner did not have key. The technique of marquetry and inlaying of wood with contrasting material has always enjoyed great popularity, going back to Pharaonic times, this one is an absolute dream for a collector. Beautiful home decor on a shelf or office desk.
Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Vintage Condition. There are surface scratches and signs of use. All as acceptable due to age/use/wear.
