Raggedy Ann and Andy on a farm in summer, on ice skates in winter — and the wear to prove this box lived a full life.
This 1973 Aladdin Industries metal lunch box features the beloved Raggedy Ann & Andy characters — farm scene on one side, ice skating on the other — manufactured in Nashville for The Bobbs-Merrill Company, who held the character rights at the time. Aladdin produced the first character-themed school lunch box (Hopalong Cassidy, 1950) and this is from their most prolific era of collectible boxes. It carries significant condition wear: paint loss, scratches, scuffs, discoloration, corrosion, no thermos, no handle, and one very small corner dent. Only one side retains its original colors well. We call this Rustic/Primitive Vintage — the kind of honest patina that many collectors appreciate and seek out. Everything is photographed close up for you.
Sold as-is for the collector who loves the story a worn object tells, or as a display piece in a retro or nostalgic interior.
