There is wonderful history behind this bowl — genuine hospital ware from Gorham, made for the prestigious Stamford Hospital in Connecticut and used to serve patients in the 1920s. This smaller bowl was likely used for fruit cocktail, sliced fresh fruit, or cereal.
Condition: Very good antique condition. Surface scratches and minor signs of use, acceptable for age. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

The bottom carries several etched marks: "Stamford Hospital," the Gorham impressed anchor logo, the letters "EP," and model number 04344; some examples also carry a small icon used to denote the year 1925. Stamford Hospital was founded in the 1890s and remains the only hospital in the city of Stamford, Connecticut — a well-known, award-winning not-for-profit institution and the central facility for Stamford Health.
