The organic shell form cradles a generous serving area, with integrated candle holders and a removable sauce cup making it a complete entertaining centerpiece. The dolphin-shaped foot on one end is the flourish that makes it unforgettable. Original label still attached reads "FB Rogers Silver Company, Taunton, Mass."
FB Rogers Silver Company, acquired by J.C. Boardman in 1985 (after which the FB Rogers name was dropped and manufacturing moved to Europe and Asia), was one of America's well-regarded silverplate producers. This piece dates from the pre-1985 Taunton era. Note: does not include glass inserts — we highly recommend using glass liners in both the cup holder and the shell to protect the silver from food acids.
