  • Pattern:  Blue Jasperware, Wedgwood Bute Bowl / Mazer Bowl - Neoclassical Greek Mythology Figures, Dated
  • Made in England
  • Vintage: 1954
  • Details:  This bowl needs no introduction, it is the timeless pattern from Wedgwood called Jasperware.  Jasperware was made in several colors including Cobalt Blue, Lavender, Green and perhaps others, this powdery blue is the most popular with collectors.  This bowl is very beautiful with several of the Neoclassical Greek Mythology figures around the outside in white relief porcelain, (they look like a cameos). Never put this in the dishwasher, hand wash only.  These dishes are too pretty to eat on, but you certainly could, unlike many other Jasperware pieces, this one is glazed inside.  Traditionally this Bute Bowl, (aka Mazer Bowl), was used as a medieval communal feasting cup or ceremonial cup.  A nice collector piece to be displayed on a mantel, shelf or curio.  We offer a 15% discount on the purchase of 2 Jasperware pieces, 20% with the purchase of 3 or more pieces of Jasperware.  Please Contact Us, let us know which pieces you're interested in, your email address, and we'll send you a discount code.
