Hand-painted strawberries, signed by the artist "Roy" — on a pedestal tin bowl that traces its lineage all the way back to the itinerant Yankee Peddlers of the 1800s who traveled rural America selling tinware door to door. Burkart Brothers of Verplanck, New York, a family of metal craftsmen going back to 1848, produced this piece as part of their Yankee Peddler Tinware Line (#6309) — a reproduction of that early American folk tradition, made with genuine care.

This kind of piece is getting harder to find. The hand-painted, artist-signed decoration gives it a one-of-a-kind quality that mass-produced pieces simply don't have. Not dishwasher safe — hand washing only.

A beautiful kitchen or dining room display piece, a charming fruit bowl for a farmhouse or cottage setting, or a collector's piece for early American folk art and tinware.
