An affordable, attractive, and genuinely useful decanter — the kind of piece that earns its place on the bar not through rarity or pedigree but through pure good looks and practicality. No stopper actually makes it ideal as an everyday wine decanter — just rinse, fill, and pour.
The base is covered in an all-over pattern of cut squares that catches the light beautifully, transitioning into a long smooth neck. The bottom is embossed "I82 80, LIQUOR BOTTLE, D-396" — the kind of period detail that bottle collectors love. Barton Brands Ltd. was founded in Chicago in 1944 by Oscar Getz, a serious collector of whiskey history who later founded the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History in Bardstown, Kentucky. The company grew into one of the largest producers of value-priced spirits in the United States and today operates as Barton 1792 Distillery, part of the Sazerac Company.
