A very neat old amber glass medicine bottle with a raised image of a fisherman carrying a very large fish on his back, from Scott's Emulsion cod liver oil.

A fun collectible bottle, originally sold with cod liver oil. It has a super nice raised (debossed) image of a fisherman carrying a very large fish on his back. This cod liver oil was sold by The Scott and Bowne Company as "Scott's Emulsion," and a very aggressive advertising campaign built around this fisherman image helped make Scott's Emulsion one of the best-selling medicines of the late 19th and early 20th century. The bottom is embossed with the Owens-Illinois mark, an O inside an oval inside a diamond, used circa the 1930s. We see a 7 with a dot and a 1 on the bottom of the logo, which shows it was made in 1947 at the Toledo, Ohio plant.
