If your last name is Carnes — or if you love someone whose last name is Carnes — this stein was made for you.
This heavy glass beer stein with pewter lid is etched with the name "CARNES" — a Gaelic name used in Ireland from around the year 1200 until the 18th century. Made in West Germany in 1986 by ALWE Geschwister Weisbender UG, an authentic German maker. The pewter lid features wonderful scrolls and leaves, with "W. Germany" embossed on the mechanism. In excellent condition — no cracks, chips, or scratches. Pewter in excellent condition as well.
Many Irish settlers with the surname Carnes came to America in the 17th and 18th centuries — among them John Carnes, who arrived in Boston in 1649, and Jacob Carnes, who arrived in Pennsylvania in 1782. In the early 19th century a great wave of Irish families followed, many bearing the Carnes name. If you are one of their proud descendants, this stein belongs in your home.
The perfect Father's Day gift for a Carnes man. There is only one.
