Milk glass has a way of turning something ordinary — a stand for bananas — into a quiet showpiece for the counter.

Westmoreland Glass Company built its reputation on milk glass; nearly ninety percent of what left their Grapeville, Pennsylvania factory between the 1920s and 1950s was made in this soft, opaque white. This piece is their Doric pattern, also known as Lacy Edge or Open Lace, introduced in the 1940s and instantly recognizable by its scalloped, lattice rim.

Just as lovely holding fruit as anchoring a shelf or vignette, it makes a charming housewarming or hostess gift for anyone drawn to farmhouse or cottagecore style. Pair it with our Westmoreland English Hobnail milk glass candle holders for a matched vintage tablescape.
