Three embossed asparagus spears pressed into ribbed clear glass — a rare and specific piece of American mid-century tableware that most people wouldn't even recognize for what it is.

Hazel Atlas Glass, founded in 1885 in Wellsburg, West Virginia and eventually the largest glass container manufacturer in the world, produced these asparagus dishes in their Pattern #1305 (Beads and Ribs) in the 1950s. The ribbed border runs all the way around the oval; three crisp asparagus spears are pressed in relief at the center. Hazel Atlas made similar dishes with corn on the cob at center — making these a genuinely collectible series for those who know to look. Two available, both in similar very good condition with only faint surface scratches from age.

Still perfectly functional as an asparagus server, a celery dish, a bread tray, or a relish holder. A delightful and unusual gift for the Hazel Atlas collector, the vegetable dish enthusiast, or the table-setter who loves a piece with a story attached.
