Frame it for a study, a library, a bar, a cat lover's home, or anywhere that welcomes a piece of commercial art with genuine personality. At 7.0 by 9.0 inches it fits a standard 8x10 frame beautifully. A wonderful gift for a tobacciana collector, a cat lover, or anyone who appreciates the golden age of American chromolithographic printing.
This original White Cat outer box label is an antique chromolithograph depicting a large, magnificently fluffy white cat sitting atop an equally large cigar marked "Standard Quality" — rendered with the confident, slightly absurdist charm that made animal advertising labels of this era some of the most beloved in the tobacciana collecting world. While most box labels of this era featured people, a spirited minority went with animals — cats, dogs, horses, wolves — and the White Cat is among the finest of them. Consolidated Lithographing Corporation was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1925 by Jacob A. Voice and became one of the largest printers of paper labels in America in the early 20th century.
