A rare variant of a beloved mid-century brand — and remarkably hard to find.
Halo Shampoo was introduced by Colgate-Palmolive in 1938 and remained a bathroom staple through the 1970s, but this "For Dry Hair" formulation is the scarce one. This full-page, full-color 1960 Courier Journal advertisement features a woman with luminous hair against a vivid background — colors still bright despite the paper's warm age toning. The reverse carries a full-page color advertisement for Bensinger's Furniture Store of Lexington, Kentucky, a local business of its era.
A lovely piece for a powder room, dressing room, or vintage beauty collection. A charming gift for health and beauty ephemera collectors or lovers of mid-century advertising illustration.
