A wonderful piece for a mid-century modern interior, a game room, or a collector of early 1960s Americana. A thoughtful and unexpected gift.
GMAC's 1961 insurance ad is one of those unexpected finds — the image is so thoroughly of its moment that it reads almost like a photograph from someone's family album. Two boys in pajamas playing checkers on a blue carpet, the domestic ease of early 1960s American life rendered in full color. GMAC later became National General Insurance in 2013, and was acquired by Allstate in 2021 — making this a small piece of corporate history too.
