The Bodyguard Tour launched in Miami on July 5, 1993 and concluded in Cape Town, South Africa on November 19, 1994 — a worldwide run spanning North America, Asia, Europe, South America, and Africa. It was Houston's fifth concert tour and one of the most commercially successful of its era, earning her over $33 million in 1993 and 1994 alone and landing her on Forbes magazine's Richest Entertainers list.
The tour supported The Bodyguard — the 1992 film starring Houston and Kevin Costner that grossed over $411 million worldwide. The soundtrack sold over 45 million copies, making it one of the best-selling soundtracks of all time. Houston's rendition of "I Will Always Love You" — originally written and recorded by Dolly Parton — became a cultural phenomenon. The film won several Worst Picture awards at the time; today it is considered a cult classic.
This pass was acquired from a friend of Toni Perri, the original collection owner, who has since passed away.
