Carton Label Co. of San Francisco produced some of the era's most confidently composed fruit labels, and this one was distinctive enough to earn a federal patent — “Reg. U.S. Patent Off.” stamped right on the face.

  • Brand: American Eagle Brand / North Dinuba Packing Co.
  • Origin: North Dinuba, California, USA
  • Lithographer: Carton Label Co., San Francisco, California (1927–1955)
  • Materials: Paper, lithograph
  • Dimensions: 13.0" wide × 4.0" tall
  • Era: Vintage, circa 1932–1940s
  • Condition: New Old Stock (NOS) — unused, excellent mint condition, age-appropriate yellowing. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

A bald eagle, wings spread and gaze fixed, occupies the full composition — a design confident enough to receive a federal patent, marked “Reg. U.S. Patent Off.” on the face. A blank blue square where the produce variety would have been overprinted confirms this example went straight from the factory to storage, sourced from the collection of Lorie Cairns, one of the pioneering dealers in vintage label collecting.

A strip label made for a narrow frame — ideal in a study, library, or office, or anywhere that welcomes a symbol of American strength and history.

Carton Label Co. operated in San Francisco from 1927 to 1955 and produced some of the most beautifully composed fruit crate labels of the era; original lithographic examples like this one, never used or folded, are increasingly scarce.

A wonderful gift for the patriotic decor collector, American history enthusiast, or vintage ephemera collector.
