Smaller than a pocket watch, prettier than it had any reason to be.

This tiny hinged tin was originally sold by the Chambers Candy Company of Halesowen, England, filled with their Victorian-style mint cachous — "perfumed and flavored," as they advertised. The image, now retired, shows a girl in a colonial bonnet admiring an orange tree heavy with fruit, printed in the warm, illustrated style that made these little tins so collectible. Marked on the base: "Produced in England by The Chambers Candy Company, Eagle House, Halesowen, England." Incorporated in 2003, though tins with 1997 expiration dates have been found — the exact date of manufacture is uncertain, so please purchase for the love of the object rather than its pedigree. Inside is spotless.

Keep it on a vanity for daily pills, tuck it in a purse, add it to a tin collection, or give it as a small gift that punches well above its size.
